
Langtang Valley Trek
Langtang trekking is also called "the valley of glaciers trek". Langtang is the closet place where you could get the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy down and meadows. For Langtang valley trekking you take around 8 hours drive from Kathmandu. The starting point of trekking is Syabru Bensi. From Syabru Bensi you will follow the Langtang River to the east until you get to Kyangin Gompa (3,049) with overnight stay at Lama Hotel, Langtang valley respectively. On the fourth day you will arrive at Langtang valley. In this valley besides natural wonders you also visit local Tibetan village and see their lifestyle. The last destination of this trekking is Kyanjin Gompa. You visit ancient Buddhist monastery and glaciers. Here you stay one more day on next day you get an opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m.]. From its top you will get 360 degree mountain views. From Kyangjin, you retrace your route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.
Detailed itinerary
Day 01: Upon arrival in Kathmandu international airport, transfer to the hotel. Orientation of the trip. O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Shabrubeshi(1460m). 7h scenic drive. O/n at mountain lodge.
Day 03: Shabrubeshi to Lama Hotel (2560m). Overnight at mountain lodge.
Day 04: Lama Hotel to Langtang valley(3455m). Overnight at mountain lodge.
Day 05: Langtang valley to Kyanjin Gompa (3817m). Overnight at mountain lodge.
Day 06: Explore around the Kyanjin Gompa. Morning climb to Tsergo Ri (4983m). Overnight at Mountain lodge.
Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa to Ghodatabela(3020m). Overnight at mountain lodge.
Day 08: Ghodatabela to Shabrubeshi. O/n at mountain lodge.
Day 09: Syabrubeshi to Kathmandu (by bus.) O/n at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Transfer to the Kathmandu international airport for final departure.
